Historic drinking fountains: restored

Once installed across London in their hundreds, many historic drinking fountains were switched off in the 1960s and 1970s. Instead of serving the public, they fell victim to vandalism and neglect. Today only a handful of these beautiful public amenities still work.
Restoring them brings back vitality to a public space, offers an environmentally friendly public resource, educates and inspires children and creates a sense of local pride. What's more – it's easy! Heritage of London Trust has restored 14 historic drinking fountains to date and have another 10 currently under restoration.
